Netanyahu's Wife Threatens Lawsuit Over Upcoming Investigative Report

Sara Netanyahu, wife of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has sent a sharp warning letter to journalist Raviv Drucker and the investigative program "Hamakor" (The Source) on Channel 13, threatening legal action ahead of a scheduled report.

Netanyahu's lawyers stated that if the report is broadcast, they will file a defamation lawsuit seeking at least one million shekels, in addition to a criminal complaint. The letter vehemently denies allegations presented by the program, calling them a "gross distortion of reality" and an "absolute lie."

The report reportedly touches upon the head of the Prime Minister's Office's security department, Alon Hiluha. Specific claims addressed in the letter include demands for non-essential renovations. Netanyahu's representatives assert that a window replacement in Caesarea was a security necessity due to an enemy drone strike and war damage repairs. Regarding work at the Gaza street residence, including a wall, shutters, and kitchen, it's claimed Netanyahu never requested work not pre-approved by professional staff.

Concerning security arrangements abroad, the letter argues these issues are recycled and that all security decisions are based solely on assessments by the Shin Bet and the Ministerial Committee, not personal desires. The letter also accuses the program of potentially endangering lives by exposing sensitive security information and acting in bad faith by giving an unreasonably short deadline for a response, merely to "tick a box."

Finally, the letter alleges the timing of the report is politically motivated, using old claims previously examined and approved by authorized bodies and the Supreme Court.
