M.S. Ashdod filed a complaint Sunday to the Israel Football Association, alleging that players from Ironi Tiberias received banned intravenous treatments before the teams met about six weeks ago. Tiberias won that match 3-0.
Ashdod’s lawyers demanded a full investigation by the association. The claim comes after the season ended with Tiberias remaining in the Premier League and Ashdod being relegated to the National League.
The Israel Football Association said it had received an official complaint from M.S. Ashdod’s attorneys about suspected use of prohibited IVs by Ironi Tiberias around the lower playoff match. It added that the matter is being examined by professional officials and that it could not say more at this stage.
The association also said the World Anti-Doping Agency had been informed. The report was published alongside references to other ongoing football betting and match-fixing investigations in Israel.
