Grenade Attack on Businessman's Home Sparks Fear in Kfar Shemaryahu

Residents of Kfar Shemaryahu were awakened by a powerful explosion on Ilanot Street early Wednesday morning, after unknown assailants threw a fragmentation grenade at a local villa owned by a businessman. Fortunately, the incident resulted only in property damage and no injuries.

This attack adds to a disturbing pattern of criminal incidents plaguing the area in recent months. Several weeks prior, a stun grenade detonated on the street after falling from a vehicle, and a few months ago, a fragmentation grenade was thrown at the home of another prominent businessman.

Investigators from the Central District of the Israel Police are collecting evidence and exploring various leads, including suspicions of a business or criminal dispute involving residents of the street. No arrests have been made so far.

The police stated regarding the unusual event: "Tel Aviv District officers have opened an investigation into the suspected throwing of a weapon in a street in Kfar Shemaryahu; there are no casualties and no damage was caused. Tonight, a report was received about an explosion heard in Kfar Shemaryahu. Officers from the Glilot station in the Yarkon area and explosives experts from the Tel Aviv district arrived at the scene, collected findings, and opened an investigation. It is suspected that an Israeli army fragmentation grenade was thrown at the scene. The background to the incident is criminal."
