Rapper Dzhigan Denies Shooting, Hostage Claims From Israeli Rehab Center
Russian rapper Denis Ustimenko-Vaynstein, known as Dzhigan, has publicly addressed a scandal involving alleged shooting and hostage-taking at a Moscow region cottage. Speaking from a rehabilitation center in Israel, Dzhigan vehemently denied all media reports, calling them a fabrication and a planned provocation. He stated that journalists had distorted the events, claiming that instead of a violent incident, he was filming a snippet for a new song at the time.
Dzhigan confirmed he is undergoing treatment abroad, emphasizing that seeking medical and psychological help is not shameful. "Rehab is not bad. I am in Israel, on the Holy Land, I am here to spiritually recharge," he stated.
Reports from early July alleged that Dzhigan, while intoxicated, barricaded himself in a mansion with security, armed himself with a Saiga-9 carbine, and wounded a guard, with his children reportedly hiding in closets. No official police complaints were filed by the alleged victims, and Dzhigan was quickly taken abroad following the incident.
