Senior Israeli Officer Under Investigation for Leaking Classified Information

The military prosecution has ordered a high-ranking officer, a Major General, to undergo a thorough command investigation concerning allegations of conflict of interest and leaking classified information to an unauthorized individual. The investigation stems from a detailed complaint filed by a Lieutenant Colonel, who is a commander and combat soldier. The complaint alleges that the Major General's personal relationships led to the alleged misconduct.

The affair came to light in early May when the complaining officer submitted a written report to his superiors. This report reached senior IDF officials, prompting an investigation by the special investigations unit of the Military Police, in cooperation with the IDF's Information Security Department and under the supervision of the Chief Military Prosecutor's office. The investigation is examining claims of conflict of interest, exceeding authority, and abuse of power. Suspicions of information security offenses and unbecoming conduct for an officer of his rank are also being scrutinized.

During the investigation, testimonies were taken and various materials were collected. The outcome of the investigation will determine what, if any, command actions will be taken against the Major General. The decision for the command investigation was published on Wednesday by Kan News.
