Beitar Jerusalem Faces Extended Jordan Cohen Absence, Finds Solace in Timothy Muzeyi's Play
Beitar Jerusalem is disappointed by the news that defender Jordan Cohen will be sidelined for an additional six weeks due to a knee injury. This extended absence includes four weeks for recovery followed by two weeks of gradual return to full training. Cohen has been out since experiencing knee pain during warm-ups before a match against Austria Vienna on August 13, accumulating a total absence of three months.
Despite the setback, the club is finding encouragement in the strong performances of Timothy Muzeyi in Cohen's position. The coaching staff praised Muzeyi after the team's recent game against Hapoel Haifa, noting his impressive attitude and determination to seize opportunities. "His approach is amazing," a club source stated about Muzeyi. "He understands there are many players ahead of him and it will be difficult to get minutes, and he's taking the left-back minutes with all his might, wanting to be an option in every role."
The team is also managing the return of other players. Alexis Serna, who hadn't played for four months before arriving in Israel, is on a phased return plan. Nana Antwi will also gradually return to full fitness after the upcoming international break.
