Reality Star Kuti Segev Slams Influencer for Yom Kippur Food Post

Reality TV personality Kuti Segev, known for his appearance on "Big Brother Israel," has strongly criticized social media influencer Daniel Amit for posting a video of herself making toast during the Jewish fasting day of Yom Kippur. Segev, who now co-hosts a current affairs show on Kan Gimel radio with Maya Bezalel, called the act "a finger in the eye" to observant Jews.

During a discussion on their radio program, Segev expressed his dismay, questioning why Amit would choose to post a video of herself eating during the solemn fast. He argued that while her followers might share her views, it could be offensive to religious or traditional followers. "What you do in your house is your business. No one will tell you what to do, no one will judge you for it. Yom Kippur belongs to God, it doesn't belong to people. Let everyone do what they want," Segev stated.

Bezalel attempted to offer a different perspective, suggesting Amit aimed to represent those who do not fast. However, Segev disagreed, emphasizing that fasting is a personal choice and Yom Kippur is not owned by anyone. Bezalel further explained that Amit wanted to connect with others who also choose not to fast, ride bicycles, or use mobile phones on the holy day.

Segev concluded by reflecting on the nature of the afterlife, presenting two possibilities: either there is nothing after death, or everything told in religious texts is true. He pondered how those who disregard Yom Kippur traditions would fare in the latter scenario.
