Hundreds of Youths Pledge New Observances Before Leading Rabbi

Hundreds of young men from the "Biyachad Lelmod" (Together to Learn) yeshiva network across Israel gathered at the Jerusalem residence of Rabbi Moshe Sternbuch, a preeminent rabbinical authority, for an annual spiritual event preceding Yom Kippur. The gathering, now a tradition, aims to inspire religious commitment among youths who have become closer to religious observance through the network's programs.

During the event, Rabbi Sternbuch, visibly moved, led the participants in reciting prayers for divine unity. He then delivered a powerful address, emphasizing that his blessings derive their strength solely from the recipients' actual commitment to Torah and Mitzvot (commandments), rather than being an independent magical force. This message deeply resonated with the attendees.

The climax of the event saw each young man approach Rabbi Sternbuch to declare a personal commitment for the new year. These pledges included observing Shabbat according to Halakha (Jewish law), daily phylactery observance, and praying in a minyan (prayer quorum). Rabbi Sternbuch listened to each pledge, offering his hands in blessing and wishing them success.

Concluding the ceremony, Rabbi Sternbuch praised the founders and leaders of the "Biyachad Lelmod" organization, including its founder Rabbi Chaim Dov Greenberg, for their work in bringing young people closer to religious observance, stating they bring immense satisfaction to God. The youths departed from the rabbi's residence spiritually uplifted and prepared for the holy day with firm resolutions for the future.
