Young Rabbi Yaakov Meir Eisenbach Dies After Tragic Fall

Rabbi Yaakov Meir Eisenbach, a beloved young rabbi and educator, passed away tragically on Shabbat after a severe head injury. He was 24 years old.

Eisenbach, known for his pleasant demeanor, exemplary conduct, and radiant smile, was deeply cherished by those around him. He was recognized for his profound piety, noble character, and pursuit of truth. His friends highlighted his meticulous adherence to Hasidic customs, including his remarkable practice of refraining from speaking while wearing tefillin.

His educational journey included studies at Torat Emet Chabad in Jerusalem, Tcheimchei Tcheimim in Lod, Tcheimchei Tcheimim in Kiryat Gat, and a year at the central yeshiva in Crown Heights, New York. Following this, he served as a teacher and emissary at the Tcheimchei Tcheimim yeshiva in Istra, Russia, where he became a particular favorite among students who saw him as an exemplary figure.

Most recently, during the past Elul period, he took on the role of Mashgiach (spiritual supervisor) at the Tcheimchei Tcheimim Z'irei Hashluchim yeshiva in Safed. It was there, on Shabbat, while preparing to go to afternoon prayers after regular classes, that he stumbled on home stairs, sustaining a fatal head injury and losing consciousness.

Family members present at the home immediately called emergency services. Despite prolonged resuscitation efforts, paramedics were forced to pronounce his death. He was buried late Saturday night, on the eve of the holy day, at Har HaMenuchot cemetery in Jerusalem, accompanied by his grieving family, yeshiva colleagues, and many members of the Chabad Hasidic community.
