Trump Warns UN of Nuclear-Armed Iran, Compares Oct 7 to 9/11

Speaking at the UN General Assembly, former U.S. President Donald Trump drew parallels between the September 11th terrorist attacks and the October 7th Hamas massacre in Israel. Trump stated that while America recently marked 25 years since 9/11, which killed 3,000 people, Israel would soon mark the third anniversary of the October 7th attack, where "Iran-backed terrorists" murdered 1,200 Israelis, including dozens of Americans.

Trump strongly criticized the Iranian regime, referencing statements by Iran's Supreme Leader following the October 7th attack, which he characterized as celebrating the massacre and calling it "a service to humanity." He also claimed that the Iranian regime has killed over 72,000 of its own citizens this year.

The former president issued a stark warning about the potential for Iran to acquire nuclear weapons. "Just imagine what such a despicable regime would do if it ever got the ability to carry out large-scale terrorist attacks under the umbrella of nuclear capability," Trump stated, adding that this was a reality "too many chose to ignore."

He also addressed Iran's attacks on commercial shipping, commending the UN Security Council for a resolution condemning these actions, which he said received broad support. Trump concluded by asserting that the United States would no longer tolerate threats and would use its "unrivaled military power" to protect its national interests if necessary.
