Carmela Roth, Mother of Prominent Haredi Figures, Dies at 95
Carmela Roth, a respected figure in the Haredi community and mother of prominent individuals associated with the 'Yated Ne'eman' newspaper, passed away peacefully at the age of 95. Born Carmela Kresla Wirtzer, she was the daughter of Rabbi Yitzchak Wirtzer. She married Rabbi Yehuda Leib Roth, and together they established a religious household in Ramat Gan.
Roth is survived by her sons, Rabbi Yitzchak Roth and Rabbi Moshe Roth, both involved with 'Yated Ne'eman', and her daughter, Mrs. Tali Ben Shachar. She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild, all adhering to religious traditions.
The funeral procession departed on Tuesday evening, the 11th of Tishrei 5787 (which corresponds to October 13, 2026), at 5:00 PM from the Kiryat Shaul cemetery's funeral home, where she was laid to rest.
The family is observing the traditional seven-day mourning period, known as Shiva, at their home located at 11 Yad HaChazakah Street in Ramat Gan. Visitors are received daily between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, and again from 4:30 PM to 10:00 PM. On Friday, the Shiva will be observed at the Roth family home at 3 Gra Street in Bnei Brak until 2:00 PM.
