Respected Woman Sarah Bayla Koenig Passes Away After Illness

The passing of Sarah Bayla Koenig, a revered and righteous woman, has been announced with great sorrow. She was known as a woman of valor, deeply pious, who raised her home on the foundations of Torah, modesty, and kindness, educating her descendants in the ways of their forefathers. Mrs. Koenig endured severe suffering in her life, which she accepted with love and fervent faith, serving her Creator with joy and devotion. She was dedicated to honoring her parents and cared for them until their final days.

She was the wife of Rabbi Asher Zelig Koenig, a prominent figure among the Biala Hasidim, and the daughter of Rabbi Yerucham Shalom Aharon Roicher of Kiryat Ata-Haifa, a leading figure among the Breslov Hasidim. Her funeral took place on Tuesday, October 4, 2025, at 1:00 PM from the Shagar Funeral Home in Jerusalem, with burial at Har HaMenuchot cemetery.

The family will observe Shiva, the traditional seven-day mourning period, until the eve of Sukkot at their home, 13 Congress Street, Apt. 2, in the Ramot neighborhood of Jerusalem. Her son, Rabbi Mendel Koenig, chairman of the 'Menucha V'Yeshua' organization, will receive mourners on Friday from 1:45 PM at the 'Beit Samuel' hotel, 6 Eliyahu Shama Street, Jerusalem.
