Bereaved Families Forum Slams Attorney General Over Ra'am Party Stance

The 'Choosing Life' Forum, representing bereaved families and terror victims, has sharply criticized the Attorney General's legal position regarding a petition to disqualify the Ra'am party from running in the Knesset elections. The forum called the Attorney General's stance a "legal and public scandal" and urged the Central Elections Committee to reject it outright and ban the party.

The forum's main criticism centers on their claim of a direct link between Ra'am and organizations mentioned in the petition. They cited statements by Ra'am Chairman Mansour Abbas, who has stated in interviews that he can account for every shekel of the organization. The forum argued that after such a statement, and with extensive evidence of Ra'am's direct ties to its associated organizations, claiming no real connection is "intentional willful blindness" rather than legal interpretation.

Furthermore, the forum accused the Attorney General of attempting to "legitimize Ra'am at all costs, even when the facts are on the table." They asserted that instead of defending Israel against entities with serious ties to terrorist organizations, she is acting as a "legal shield for Ra'am."

The forum concluded by stating they will not remain silent, declaring, "We will not allow this whitewashing. Whoever can account for every shekel of the organization also knows how to account for its connections. The Elections Committee must reject the Attorney General's position and establish the simple fact: Ra'am is out of the Israeli Knesset."
