Bereaved Families Slam Attorney General Over Stance on Ra'am Party

The "Choosing Life" forum, representing bereaved families and terror victims, has launched a sharp attack against Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara following her position in a petition seeking to disqualify the Ra'am party from running in elections. The forum called the Attorney General's stance a "legal and public scandal" and urged the Central Elections Committee to reject her position and disqualify the party.

The core of the forum's criticism centers on alleged ties between Ra'am and specific non-profit organizations mentioned in the petition. They pointed to interviews given by Ra'am chairman Mansour Abbas, where he stated he could account for every shekel donated to the organizations. The forum argued that such statements, along with other evidence of direct links, demonstrate a clear connection that the Attorney General is deliberately ignoring.

"Instead of defending the State of Israel against those surrounded by serious connections to organizations and entities linked to terrorism, she chooses to serve as a legal shield for Ra'am," the forum stated, accusing the Attorney General of trying to legitimize Ra'am at any cost, even when facts are presented.

The "Choosing Life" forum vowed to continue its efforts to disqualify the party, asserting that accountability for organizational funds implies accountability for the party's connections. They reiterated their call for the Elections Committee to reject the Attorney General's position and ban Ra'am from the Knesset.
