Degel HaTorah Holds Election Readiness Meeting with New Knesset Candidates

The political party Degel HaTorah held a campaign readiness meeting on Tuesday in Bnei Brak, with newly designated Knesset members present for the first time. Knesset Member Yaakov Asher, who is slated to head the party's list and potentially chair United Torah Judaism, led the session. The meeting focused on key messages, work procedures, and planned activities for the upcoming election campaign.

Attendees included incumbent MKs Asher and Yitzhak Pindrus, alongside designated MKs Moshe Rosenthal, Yehuda Weissfish, Dudi Zaltz, David Ohana, and former MK Eliyahu Brochi, who was placed in a less viable position on the list. The party's official statement, released by Asher's spokesperson Yaakov Mogenbesser, stated that the candidates convened for a work and readiness meeting to discuss central messages and planned activities.

This gathering follows a previous meeting held shortly after the controversial ousting of veteran MKs Moshe Gafni and Uri Maklev. That earlier session, held between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, included both the ousted MKs and the new candidates. The party aims to mobilize voters for the joint list of United Torah Judaism, which includes Agudat Yisrael and MK Meir Porush's new party.

A source present at the meeting reported that it lasted over an hour and that Gafni and Maklev participated collaboratively with the new representatives.
