Degel HaTorah Holds Election Readiness Meeting With New Knesset Slate

The Degel HaTorah party held a preparatory meeting for the upcoming election campaign, with newly designated Knesset members present. Notably, MK Yaakov Asher, who is slated to head the party's list, presided over the gathering. The meeting, held in Bnei Brak, focused on discussing key campaign messages, work procedures, and planned activities for the coming weeks.

Attendees included current MKs Yaakov Asher and Yitzchak Pindrus, alongside newly designated members Moshe Rosenthal, Yehuda Weissfish, Dudi Zaltz, David Ohana, and former MK Eliyahu Brochi, who was placed in a less prominent position on the list. The gathering also saw the participation of party leadership, including Chairman Moshe Gafni and faction manager Uri Maklev, as well as other party officials.

This meeting follows a previous one held shortly after a significant internal party upheaval, which saw the ousting of veteran MKs Moshe Gafni and Uri Maklev. That earlier session, which drew criticism for its perceived disrespectful handling of the veteran lawmakers, also included both the removed MKs and the new candidates.

The party's official statement described the meeting as a work session for election campaign preparation. Sources present indicated that the meeting lasted over an hour and proceeded with full cooperation between Gafni, Maklev, and the new representatives. The participants discussed strategies to mobilize voters for the joint 'Yahadut HaTorah' list, which includes Degel HaTorah, Agudat Yisrael, and MK Meir Porush's new party, for the 26th Knesset elections.
