Beitar Jerusalem FC Denies Rift Between Coach and Star Player

Beitar Jerusalem Football Club has issued a statement addressing recent media speculation regarding the relationship between head coach Almog Cohen and star player Yarden Shua. The club asserted that the relationship between Cohen and Shua is respectful, with frequent communication, including discussions in the past week.

"The dry facts are very far from reality, and not everyone who says 'they know what's going on' is truly aware of it," the club stated, aiming to clarify the situation for those who claim insight into the team's inner workings.

The club's announcement also included a quote from Shua, who is currently with the Israeli national team in Austria. Shua emphasized his commitment to Beitar Jerusalem's success, stating, "From the beginning of the season, the most important thing for me is the success of Beitar Jerusalem. Even if there are games where I don't play, when I'm on the pitch, I'll give my all, as I have since the start of the season." He added, "We have an excellent team, and I am proud to be its captain. My connection with Almog is accompanied by many open and honest conversations, and of course, mutual respect. I am at the coach's disposal whenever he needs me, and for me, the club's good is always above all else."

Cohen himself commented on the situation, stating that criticism passes him by and that "everything is fine" with Shua. The club's statement comes amidst ongoing challenges for both Shua and Beitar Jerusalem.
