Beitar Jerusalem Owner Backs Coach Amid Player's Frustration

Tensions have flared at Beitar Jerusalem following a social media post by player Yarden Shu'a, which criticized coach Almog Cohen for benching him. Shu'a, who has since deleted the post, expressed frustration and disappointment, stating he is fully fit and tired of excuses for not playing. His camp claims Cohen is trying to "mix him up with excuses about a gradual return" and that Shu'a's patience has run out.

However, club owner Barak Abramov has publicly backed Cohen, asserting that all decisions are purely professional and made with the club's best interests in mind. A club spokesperson clarified that Cohen is not influenced by social media, names, or status, but by purely professional considerations.

This is not the first conflict between Shu'a and Cohen. A year ago, a heated confrontation occurred after a European elimination, with Abramov, then on vacation in Spain, also supporting Cohen's decisions regarding the player.

As it stands, Shu'a is not expected to start in the upcoming Saturday match against Hapoel Haifa at Bloomfield Stadium.
