AI Echocardiogram Startup UltraSight Raises $24 Million
Israeli startup UltraSight, developing an AI-powered platform for echocardiogram workflows, has secured $24 million in a funding round led by Alive HealthTech Growth Fund. The investment brings the company's total funding to $42 million since its inception in 2018. UltraSight's system enables trained medical staff to perform cardiac ultrasound exams, addressing the bottleneck caused by a shortage of expert sonographers. This approach aims to improve patient flow, reduce wait times, and optimize medical staff utilization in hospitals.
The company, founded by Itay Kazorer, Yaron Lifman, and Ahi Lodmersky, with Davidi Wertman serving as CEO, currently employs 25 people, with 19 based in Israel and the remainder in the U.S. The UltraSight Echosystem is deployed in over 10 intensive care units. The cardiac ultrasound market faces significant challenges due to increasing demand for heart tests and a persistent lack of skilled professionals, leading to delays in clinical decision-making.
Recently, TIME magazine recognized UltraSight as a leading HealthTech company in its World's Top HealthTech Companies 2026 ranking. Professor Rafi Beyar, founder and partner at Alive, stated that UltraSight has the potential to revolutionize how advanced imaging supports the diagnosis and treatment of structural heart diseases, where real-time access to quality cardiac ultrasound is crucial.
The newly raised capital will fund UltraSight's commercial expansion in the U.S. healthcare systems and further development of clinical applications for ICUs, where rapid cardiac imaging is vital for treatment decisions. Rick Geoffrion has joined as Chairman of the Board, bringing over 30 years of experience in the cardiovascular device industry.
