MK Tally Gotliv Credits Ben-Gvir for Push to Disqualify Arab Lawmaker

Member of Knesset Tally Gotliv has ignited a political firestorm on social media, this time concerning the legal effort to disqualify Sami Abu Shehadeh, chairman of the Balad party, from running in the upcoming Knesset elections. In a sharp tweet, Gotliv attributed the dramatic developments to Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and the Otzma Yehudit party.

'Another achievement for Itamar Ben-Gvir!' Gotliv began, detailing how Ben-Gvir and Otzma Yehudit members have spent four years gathering material on Knesset members who support terrorism. She stated that Ben-Gvir filed a petition against Abu Shehadeh, described as a terrorist supporter, backed by extensive evidence.

Gotliv then sharply criticized the Attorney General, Gali Baharav-Miara, suggesting she had no choice but to act. 'Miara's hand trembled when she had no choice but to recommend that the Election Committee seriously consider disqualifying Abu Shehadeh, the eulogizer of terrorists who encouraged another October inferno, from candidacy for the Knesset!' Gotliv wrote.

Gotliv concluded her tweet with a firm promise: 'Otzma Yehudit aims to remove all terrorist supporters from the Knesset and will not rest until the last one of them is gone.'

This current controversy follows a recent heated media confrontation involving Gotliv. Journalist Sivan Cohen interviewed Gotliv following her placement in Ben-Gvir's Otzma Yehudit party. During the interview, Cohen admonished Gotliv on air, accusing her of not answering questions directly and frequently shouting.
