Kiryat Ata Hosts 6th Annual Race Drawing Hundreds of Runners

Hundreds of runners from across Israel participated in the 6th annual Kiryat Ata race last Friday, an event that has become a local sporting tradition. The race featured competitive 5km and 10km categories, alongside a community run for elementary school students from the city.

The event fostered a sporting atmosphere, with professional athletes, children, teenagers, and residents running together. The city-sponsored event aims to combine physical activity, community engagement, and healthy living.

Yossi Gross of the EPRC club won the 10km race with a time of 34:04.04. Omer Klein secured first place in the 5km race, finishing in 16:03.74.

Mayor Yaakov Peretz flagged off the various races and congratulated the participants. He highlighted the race's role in connecting competitive sport with broad community involvement and expressed his excitement at seeing hundreds of runners from across the country alongside local schoolchildren filling the streets with energy. Peretz affirmed the city's commitment to promoting sports, physical activity, and healthy lifestyles.
