Singapore Airlines Named World's Best Carrier in Skytrax 2026 Awards
Singapore Airlines has been recognized as the world's best airline at the Skytrax 2026 awards ceremony, held recently. The airline also secured the top spot for best economy class. Qatar Airways, Cathay Pacific, ANA, Turkish Airlines, and Emirates were among the other top contenders in the top ten.
Air France was the only European airline to make the top ten, ranking seventh and also serving flights to Israel. The remaining airlines in the top ten were Hainan Airlines, Japan Airlines, and Korean Air.
In other travel news, Explora Journeys announced two new cruise itineraries for the winter 2027-2028 season, replacing previously planned routes in the Middle East and Red Sea. The ship EXPLORA I will sail in the Southern Hemisphere summer along the South American coast, while EXPLORA V will debut in the Mediterranean and Atlantic Islands. "The question is not how many places you can visit, but how you experience them," stated Anna Nash, President of Explora Journeys, emphasizing the new routes' focus on discovery and a comfortable, rich, and enjoyable experience.
Additionally, the ride-hailing company Gett has expanded its international booking service to 50 countries worldwide. Following a trial period, users can now book rides in new destinations including Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, and New Zealand through the existing Gett app. This expansion allows users to see prices upfront in Israeli shekels and pay using their saved payment methods without needing to download local apps or register for new services.
