Student Tells Lior Shelein He Wouldn't Trust Arab Doctors

During a meeting with Israeli media personality Lior Shelein, a high school student expressed strong opposition to the inclusion of Arab citizens in the Israeli government, stating he believes they cannot be trusted and do not want Arabs to influence the country's elections. When asked by Shelein if he would trust an Arab doctor, nurse, or orderly in a hospital, the student replied that he would seek to switch if possible, but acknowledged that in an emergency, he would have no choice but to accept their care. He elaborated that his distrust stems from the belief that most Arabs do not want Jews to live in Israel and that their easier path to becoming doctors is also problematic.

Shelein strongly countered the student's views, warning that such sentiments lead to an apartheid state. He emphasized that Israel's Arab citizens, numbering around 1.5 million and soon to be 2 million, are equal citizens with the same rights as Jewish citizens. Shelein argued that denying them rights would create a racist state with two classes of citizens and questioned whether the student truly desired to live in a Jewish state that is not democratic and operates under an apartheid regime.
