Student Expresses Extreme Anti-Arab Views in Confrontation with Lior Schein

Israeli social media personality Lior Schein published a video Tuesday documenting a disturbing conversation with a high school student who expressed extreme anti-Arab sentiments. Schein, who often engages with young people in educational settings on political topics, shared the clip with the caption, "A disturbing conversation you should watch." In the video, the student, when asked by Schein how he planned to deal with Arab citizens of Israel, stated, "I will kill them." He elaborated, "Give me a knife, I will kill them. No Arab should live in the State of Israel. Every Arab should get cancer in his body, I don't care if he is good or not."

The student claimed his views predated the October 7th Hamas attack, stating, "I was racist towards Arabs even before, it doesn't matter. My whole life, since I was born." He further asserted that "every Arab should be in the grave" and that anyone who loves Arabs "has a big problem." When Schein presented statistics on the global Muslim population versus Jewish population, suggesting his views were impractical, the student responded, "I have no problem sacrificing my life, first and foremost, against Arabs. I have no problem killing 50 Arabs and dying."

Schein attempted to reason with the student, arguing that such a perspective ultimately harms the Jewish state and mirrors the ideology of terrorists. He also pointed out the paradox of the student's willingness to sacrifice his life to harm others. The student, however, remained unswayed, claiming these views were shared by his family and friends and that those who disagree should leave the country.

Towards the end of the conversation, Schein broadened his critique, linking the student's extreme views to the wider political discourse in Israel. He stated that while such voices might be heard on social media and in the student's environment, political leaders like Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, and the forces guiding the government's approach, have no viable answer to the question of what such extremism achieves. Schein concluded by urging an immediate halt to the direction Israel has been heading in recent years, a direction he felt the student's views represented.
