New Driver Caught Speeding at 103 MPH in Haifa

A new driver, identified as an 18-year-old woman from Nof HaGalil, was apprehended by traffic police in central Haifa for driving at an excessive speed of 164 kilometers per hour (approximately 103 mph) in a 60 kph (37 mph) zone.

Traffic officers detected the vehicle exceeding the speed limit by 104 kph. Following the stop, the driver was detained and taken for questioning by accident investigators. Her arrest was extended by the court.

Upon completion of the investigation, the case was transferred to the Haifa Traffic Prosecution Unit. On the evening before the holiday, a criminal indictment was filed against her. The prosecution also requested her detention until the end of legal proceedings and the suspension of her driver's license during that period.
