Gadi Eisenkot Leads Benjamin Netanyahu in Israeli Election Market Predictions
Gadi Eisenkot's Yashar party is gaining significant ground on the predictive market platform Polymarket as Israeli elections approach. The platform now estimates Yashar's chances of winning the most Knesset seats at approximately 62%, compared to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party at 39%. This marks the highest level of support recorded for Eisenkot's party on the platform.
This trend represents a dramatic reversal from just weeks prior, when the Likud held a 59% chance of finishing first, with Yashar at 41%. What was once a nearly 20-point lead for Netanyahu's party has now become a more than 20-point advantage for Eisenkot's.
Over $300,000 has been invested in this market. According to Polymarket's rules, the outcome is determined by which party or list secures the most seats, not by who ultimately forms the government.
Eisenkot also leads Netanyahu in a separate market predicting the next prime minister, with his chances estimated between 52-53% versus Netanyahu's approximately 29%. However, these figures are not traditional opinion polls but reflect the trading prices of contracts on the platform, which are subject to rapid change.
Winning the most seats does not guarantee the premiership, as forming a government depends on seat distribution among blocs and the ability to secure a Knesset majority.
