Herzog says Lebanon peace impossible while Iran dominates Hezbollah
Israeli President Isaac Herzog said in an interview with Fox News that a peace agreement between Israel and Lebanon cannot work as long as Iran holds such strong influence there. He said, “A peace agreement between Israel and Lebanon cannot exist if Iran has such a big influence.”
Herzog argued that Hezbollah is preventing Lebanon from reaching peace, saying, “How can you reach peace between Israel and Lebanon when Hezbollah is kidnapping Lebanon?” He called Hezbollah a terrorist organization that is “armed from head to toe by Iran.”
Herzog also addressed ties between Israel and the United States, saying the two countries have very close relations. He added that raising concerns is entirely legitimate because Israel is on the front line of the war and is the side absorbing Iranian missiles.
