Gadi Eisenkot Demands Netanyahu Immediately Publish War Aims

Gadi Eisenkot, chairman of the National Unity Party, issued a statement Tuesday urging Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Likud party to immediately publish the war aims that were approved on October 7th. Eisenkot asserted that contrary to Likud's claims, the Israeli government initially ignored the return of hostages when formulating the war's objectives. He stated that the return of hostages was only incorporated into the war aims on October 16, 2023, at his own demand, and was not part of the initial objectives.

The statement comes amid ongoing debate and pressure regarding the government's handling of the war and the fate of the hostages held by Hamas since the October 7th attacks.
