Beitar Jerusalem Aims to Relieve Pressure During Break
Beitar Jerusalem returns to training today, Tuesday, following their 2-1 victory over Hapoel Haifa at Bloomfield Stadium on Saturday. This win marked their third consecutive success, signaling a resurgence after a poor start to the league season, which saw two losses and seven goals conceded. The upcoming break will be utilized for physical recovery of players dealing with minor injuries, as well as integrating new signings Alexis Serna and Ori Azoulay. The team will also focus on re-integrating Nana Antwi and Yarden Cohen, and crucially, on tactical improvements.
Club officials feel the current season mirrors last year's struggles, citing the difficult start, the conflict between Almog Cohen and Yarden Shua, the team's ability to secure wins under pressure, and the ongoing effort to overcome challenges and return to playing fluid football. "Almog Cohen said after the win that when the team leads, the players want the game to end because of the pressure, and that's our story," Beitar sources claim. "Pressure creates heavy legs and a lack of enjoyment, and that needs to be released. If the third goal against Hapoel Haifa had gone in, it would have happened, but instead Carballo was sent off and we got into trouble."
Beitar will train without national team players Yarden Shua and Daniel Vorku, who will rejoin the squad a few days before their next match against Hapoel Ramat Gan away. Brian Carballo will be absent due to suspension. The team will also have a few days of concentrated vacation for all players during the break.
