IDF Soldier on Vacation in Italy Faces Genocide Allegations
The Hind Rajab Foundation has filed a criminal complaint with Italian authorities against an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldier vacationing in Tuscany. The organization accuses the soldier of involvement in "war crimes, crimes against humanity, and acts of genocide" during Israeli operations in the Gaza Strip. According to the foundation, the soldier allegedly served in the "Tycoon" company of the Givati Brigade, attached to the 401st Division.
The foundation claims the soldier participated in operations near Shifa Hospital, the burning of a mosque in the Nasser neighborhood, and the destruction of Palestine Square in Gaza City. These allegations are currently based on the foundation's claims and have not yet resulted in any judicial decision.
The Hind Rajab Foundation has urged Italian authorities to launch an immediate investigation into the soldier's presence and alleged activities. Neither the Italian judiciary nor the IDF has issued an official response at this time. This follows a previous complaint filed by the foundation against a former IDF soldier in Amsterdam.
