City Market Sells 11 Branches for $9.5 Million to 100 Plus
Israeli supermarket chain City Market announced Tuesday it is selling 11 of its branches to the retail chain '100 Plus' for approximately 35 million shekels (about $9.5 million). The deal is subject to approval from the Commissioner of Competition and other regulatory requirements.
The branches being sold are located in Beer Yaakov, Ramla, Kfar Saba, Be'er Sheva, Kiryat Ono, Rehovot, Hadera, Or Yehuda, Tel Aviv-Yafo, and Gedera. These stores will operate under the '100 Plus' chain, which was established at the beginning of 2026 and is led by Daniel Veridiger.
City Market, founded and managed by Yossi Schwartz, stated this move is part of its business strategy to optimize and enhance its operations while continuing to invest in the chain's growth through new store openings. The company has seen significant expansion over the past year, opening eight new branches, and plans to open around 15 more in 2027.
Schwartz added that City Market is simultaneously opening six new branches with an investment of 20 million shekels, underscoring the company's ongoing commitment to its unique concept and expansion plans.
