Father Killed in Terror Attack Sacrificed Life to Save Son

Hundreds gathered for the funeral of Natanel (Nati) Kron, who was murdered in a Palestinian terror attack near the Ein Ri'a spring in the Benjamin region just hours before Yom Kippur. Kron, a father of six, had gone to immerse himself in the spring before the holy day when the attack occurred.

His 16-year-old son, Yoav, who accompanied him, survived thanks to his father's quick thinking. In his final moments, Kron identified the attacker and shouted a warning to his son, enabling him to escape. The terrorist opened fire from a passing vehicle, killing Kron instantly.

During the emotional funeral, Yoav recounted the harrowing experience, tearfully thanking his father for saving his life. "Dad, I want to say thank you for 16 years together. Thank you that in the attack, when the terrorist entered, you shouted to me. I don't remember what you told me, and I ran. Thank you for giving me life," he said. Kron's daughter, Talia, also spoke, describing how her life changed upon hearing about the attack at the spring they had visited.

His wife, Merav Kron, remembered him as a devoted family man who was meticulous about observing traditions. She recounted how he insisted on going to the spring to immerse himself before the holiday meal and prayers, ensuring everything would be ready for the family.

The terrorist, Qadri Samara, was apprehended in Ramallah. A tracker from the Binyamin Brigade spotted the shooting and returned fire, hitting the attacker and preventing further casualties. Samara fled wounded but was located by the Duvdevan Unit in a Ramallah clinic, where he was receiving treatment.
