Yemen's Houthis Vow Increased Support for Palestinians Amid Regional Tensions

The leader of Yemen's Houthi movement, Abdel-Malik al-Houthi, has declared that the group, known as Ansar Allah, will intensify its support for Palestinians should the conflict escalate further. He stated this backing would surpass the level seen during "Al-Aqsa Flood," the Houthi term for the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel that triggered the ongoing war in Gaza.

Al-Houthi did not specify the exact nature of these future actions. Following the October 7th attack and the subsequent start of the Gaza war, the Houthis began launching rockets and drones toward Israel and attacking shipping in the Red Sea, claiming these actions were in solidarity with Gaza.

These remarks come amid persistent regional instability and a recent resurgence in hostilities involving the Houthis.
