Israeli Star Dia Saba Scores Again, Leads Turkish Club to Top of League

Israeli footballer Dia Saba continued his impressive start to the season in Turkey, scoring a spectacular goal in his team Amedspor's 3-2 victory over Beşiktaş on Sunday. The goal, netted in the 22nd minute, put Amedspor up 2-0 and secured their first-place position in the Turkish league after six matches. Saba's strike, a powerful, low shot from outside the box, was assisted by Samuel Balogun. Amedspor, a newly promoted team, now leads the league with 13 points from four wins, one draw, and one loss, maintaining their top spot due to goal difference.

Earlier in the evening, Saba received a special award on the field before the match. His goal from the first week of the season against Erzurumspor was voted the best goal of August by fans in the Turkish league. The award ceremony preceded his latest impressive performance against Beşiktaş, where he provided another contender for goal of the month.

Following the win, Saba expressed his team's joy and satisfaction with their performance, particularly in the first half. "We did very good things in the first half," he stated. "After going up 0-2, we could have finished the game, but I am very pleased with the result. We worked very hard and deserved to win."

Reflecting on Amedspor's league leadership, Saba acknowledged their current standing but emphasized that the season is still young. "Yes, you can say we are in first place, but we are still at the beginning of the league. We are of course very happy. To be honest, we are in a place we deserve to be. We achieved this by playing well in every game. Now we will rest, and then we will start preparing for the next match."
