Eilai Feingold Returns to Israel National Team, Ready for Any Role

Eilai Feingold, a defender for the New England Revolution, expressed his enthusiasm for rejoining the Israeli national football team after a nearly two-year absence. Feingold stated in an interview in the United States that he has significantly improved over the past two years and is eager to contribute to the team's upcoming matches.

Feingold's return marks his first appearance since 2024. He explained that a misunderstanding between him and the football association, which led to him not reporting for a call-up to the youth team and subsequent punishment, has been resolved. He believes his previous omissions from the squad were for professional reasons and respects that decision, emphasizing his current need to prove himself.

"I told Ran Ben Shimon that I can play in any position he needs, as a center-back, right-back, left-back, anything. I'm just happy to be back with the national team," Feingold said. He highlighted the positive working relationship with his coaches, Marco Mitrovic and Caleb Porter, who he feels have aided his development.

Feingold also commented on his teammate Dor Turgeman, who has recorded seven goals and seven assists this season, stating that Turgeman is performing as expected and showcasing his true level. The Israeli national team is preparing for its first of four Nations League matches against Austria on Thursday.
