Feingold Returns to Israel National Team, Ready to Play Any Position

Eilai Feingold is set to rejoin the Israeli national basketball team for their upcoming Nations League games, marking his first appearance since 2024. The team will face Austria on Thursday in the first of four matches.

Feingold, who has been playing in the U.S., expressed his eagerness to return, stating he has worked hard and improved significantly over the past two years. He credited coaches Marko Mitrovic and Caleb Porter for their guidance. Feingold explained that a previous misunderstanding with the Israeli Basketball Association, which led to him missing a call-up to the youth team and subsequent punishment, has been resolved.

"The relationship is fine," Feingold said, "We sorted everything out. I think I wasn't called up until now for professional reasons, and I respect that. Now I need to prove myself." He assured coach Ran Ben Simon that he is willing to play any position needed, including center-back, right-back, or left-back.

Feingold also commented on his teammate Dor Turgeman, praising his performance this season, which includes seven goals and seven assists. "He is doing exactly what I expected of him. He is showing his true level," Feingold added.
