Qatar Condemns Israeli Minister's Al-Aqsa Visit as International Law Violation

Qatar has strongly condemned the incursion of Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and settlers into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, describing it as a "blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law." The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on Sunday that the mosque is a purely Islamic place of worship and that any unilateral actions aimed at altering the historical and legal status of Jerusalem and its holy sites are void under international law.

Doha warned that the continuation of these repeated violations and provocations could fuel violence and escalation in the region, undermining efforts toward de-escalation and stability. The ministry called on the international community to take urgent action to compel Israel to cease its ongoing violations against the Palestinian people and their holy sites, and to comply with relevant international legitimacy resolutions.

Qatar reiterated its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and the steadfastness of the Palestinian people, emphasizing the need to end the occupation and enable Palestinians to achieve their legitimate rights, including the establishment of an independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
