Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey Condemn Israel Over Gaza Ceasefire Violations

Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey issued a joint statement overnight between August 2 and 3 sharply criticizing Israel for ongoing violations of the Gaza ceasefire agreement. The three mediating countries condemned Israel's repeated breaches and called for international pressure to ensure Israel fulfills its obligations under international law and the ceasefire accord.

The statement marks a rare and strong rebuke of Israel's conduct in Gaza by these key regional mediators. It demands that Israel comply fully with the ceasefire terms, emphasizing the importance of upholding commitments to maintain peace in the area.

Meanwhile, Israel's Security Cabinet clarified that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will only withdraw beyond the "yellow line" in Gaza after Hamas completes the full disarmament of its weapons, as pledged to the mediators. The goal remains the complete dismantling of all Hamas arms, including light and heavy weapons and tunnels, before any Israeli pullback.

Concurrently, the IDF and Shin Bet continued operational activities in Gaza, having recently eliminated several senior Hamas militants involved in the Simchat Torah massacre. The IDF also destroyed five Hamas weapons caches across Gaza, including one near Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, containing assault rifles, explosives, anti-tank launchers, ammunition, and other military equipment.

An IDF spokesperson stated that southern command forces remain deployed per the ceasefire agreement and will persist in neutralizing threats. The militants killed had been actively planning terror attacks against Israeli forces and civilians.

This development underscores ongoing tensions and the fragile nature of the ceasefire, with mediators pressing Israel to adhere strictly to the agreement while Israel maintains security operations against Hamas threats.
