Israeli Arab Lawmaker Appeals to Egypt Over Missing Negev Youths
Israeli Arab lawmaker Mansour Al-Hawashla has appealed to Egyptian authorities to investigate the disappearance of three young men from the Negev region who went missing in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, on March 20. The youths, identified as Bilal Hassan Masaoudin Al-Walidi, Bilal Salam Al-Afshak, and Ahmed Odeh Al-Doji, have been out of contact with their families for months.
Al-Hawashla stated that the families have not received any official information regarding the whereabouts or fate of the young men, leading to prolonged anxiety and uncertainty. The lawmaker urged Egyptian leadership, government, and relevant agencies to intervene urgently in what he described as a necessary humanitarian effort to resolve the mystery surrounding their disappearance.
He emphasized the importance of enabling the young men to communicate with their families, noting that official information would alleviate the families' extended period of worry. Al-Hawashla directly requested the Egyptian authorities to "intervene urgently with the competent authorities to reveal the fate of the youths and enable them to communicate with their families, out of compassion for their families and to put an end to their suffering and continuous anxiety."
