Stone-Throwing Attack in Jerusalem's City of David Follows Benjamin Attack

In parallel with a shooting attack in Benjamin, a stone-throwing incident occurred in Jerusalem's City of David on Sunday. A group of Arabs reportedly hurled stones at a group of Jewish youths passing through the area. One of the targeted youths, fearing for his life, drew a weapon and fired a warning shot into the air, which caused the attackers to flee.

No injuries were reported in the stone-throwing incident, and police have opened an investigation. Police and Border Police forces responded quickly, initiated a widespread search for the suspects, and are collecting evidence.

Separately, in the Benjamin region, an attacker arrived at a spring by car, exited with a long weapon, and opened fire on a man present at the location. The victim was evacuated in critical condition. The assailant fled the scene on foot, and security forces are concerned he remains armed and poses a significant threat.

In response to the Benjamin attack, numerous IDF forces, including units from the Benjamin Brigade, the Duvdevan Unit, and reinforcements, along with Israeli police, were deployed. Security forces established extensive roadblocks in the area and are conducting thorough ground searches for the suspect, utilizing drones and Air Force aerial assets.
