Channel 14 news anchor Eden Harel said she was injured during a family vacation abroad after doing water sports in Cyprus. In an Instagram story posted Saturday night, she said she likely suffered a tear in her shoulder, felt pain at the start of the injury, but kept going anyway. She later wrote that she was at a medical center waiting for imaging and could not move her shoulder.
Harel and her husband, fellow Channel 14 presenter Oded Menashe, had left for the family trip shortly before barrages were launched from Iran toward Israel. In a video, Harel said she had not expected to find herself in the middle of such a major event, saying, “I did not plan to get to Cyprus for my family vacation and find myself in the middle of a crazy event with Iran, which I still do not know how to describe.”
She also described the emotional strain of leaving her children in Israel. Her elder son, Noam Israel, is already married, and her son Uria enlisted in combat service in March. Harel said, “I left my soldier son and my married son in the country.” She added that the family spoke with Uria at the airport shortly before departure, when he called and said his unit was heading out to the field, and they were able to say goodbye.
C14’s staff wished Harel a speedy and full recovery.
