Channel 12 Reporter Says He Was Injured and Will Return Soon

Channel 12 Europe correspondent Elad Shmihov said Friday on Instagram that he injured his shoulder and posted a photo from a hospital bed. In the post, he described the body as an amazing machine that can also be, at times, just “a piece of butcher’s meat,” and said that if someone “thinks he is 21 while actually he is 41,” doctors have to cut a few centimeters into the shoulder, find the torn muscle, stretch it, and sew it back together with threads.

Shmihov urged followers to protect their bodies and wished them good health, adding, “I will be back soon.” He did not say exactly how the injury happened or give a timetable for recovery.

Soon after the post, several of his colleagues from the news broadcast responded with well-wishes. Anchor Danny Kushmaro wrote, “You really need to calm down with the extreme stuff.” Economic editor Keren Marciniano said, “This picture hurts me... speedy recovery,” while presenter Ofira Asayag commented, “It’s all England, trust me.”
