Israeli TV Host Urges Public to Seek Forgiveness Year-Round
Ahead of Yom Kippur, Israeli media personality Ofira Asayag released a video message on TikTok encouraging her followers to seek forgiveness not just on the Day of Atonement, but throughout the year. Asayag emphasized that apologizing when one makes a mistake is a sign of strength and a purifying act. "Don't be ashamed, it's liberating," she stated, urging people to reach out to those they have wronged, even if Yom Kippur has arrived without prior apologies.
In a separate segment, Asayag addressed her recent professional separation from co-host Haim Levinson, with whom she presented a weekly current affairs program on Channel 12. Levinson visited Asayag's studio for a candid discussion about the crisis that led to their partnership's end. Asayag directly accused Levinson of betrayal, stating, "Basically, you betrayed me." Levinson initially questioned the harsh word, but Asayag insisted, defining her feelings and asserting, "Haim, you betrayed me." She further elaborated that the separation was a significant personal blow, admitting she took the split from Levinson harder than her previous separation from Eyal Berkovich.
