Singer Dana Lapidot Reveals Past Trauma Ahead of Third Child's Birth

Singer and songwriter Dana Lapidot will share a deeply personal story on the reality docu-series "Baby Boom," airing Saturday night on Keshet 12. As she prepares to give birth to her third son, Lapidot reveals the profound impact her husband, Yossi Barness, has had on her life, helping her overcome a past that she describes as potentially leading to death or institutionalization.

"When I met Yossi, my life changed," Lapidot states in a preview of the episode. "I managed to get out of a place where it wasn't at all clear I would get out. It could have ended in death, it could have ended in a mental institution, it could have ended badly." She explains that after years of suffering, her husband enabled her to trust and rely on him.

During a hospital visit for a check-up, Lapidot complains of a three-day headache, prompting medical staff to monitor her and run tests for preeclampsia. It is revealed that she and Barness already have a son and a daughter, making this baby their third son. Barness notes that this is his fifth child overall, with a son and daughter from a previous marriage.

Lapidot's second pregnancy was also marked by drama. In October 2021, while pregnant, she and her husband were involved in a severe car accident on their way to a performance. Their car was hit by two other vehicles, flipped, and was destroyed. Despite her injuries, Lapidot insisted on fulfilling her commitment to sing at a nearby wedding before being taken to the hospital. She later gave birth to a daughter in March 2022 at Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv.

The upcoming "Baby Boom" segment will feature intimate moments as the couple anticipates their new son's arrival, with medical staff wishing them a smooth delivery.
