Solomon Assist Sparks West Ham Comeback in Fiery Derby Draw

Israeli international Manor Solomon played a key role in West Ham's dramatic 2-2 comeback against Millwall in a heated English Championship derby on Saturday. The match, the first between the two clubs since 2012, saw West Ham rally from a two-goal deficit.

Millwall took a commanding 2-0 lead into halftime, with goals from Caleb Taylor in the 16th minute and Kamiel N'Golo in first-half stoppage time, both stemming from long throw-ins. West Ham's defense struggled to contain the aerial threat.

Following halftime substitutions by manager Nuno Espírito Santo, West Ham found a new gear. Substitute Mukhammedo Kante pulled one back in the 74th minute with a well-placed shot. Just six minutes later, Solomon delivered a pinpoint cross from the right flank, setting up defender Konstantinos Mavropanos for the equalizer in the 80th minute.

In the final minute of regulation, Kante committed a crucial foul to prevent a dangerous counter-attack, earning a red card and leaving West Ham with ten men. Solomon completed the full 90 minutes, helping his team secure the draw.

The result means West Ham loses its top spot in the league but heads into the international break satisfied with a single loss in eight matches. The game was played under exceptionally heavy security, with approximately 400 police officers deployed due to the historically violent rivalry between the fan bases.
