Tensions Flare in West Bank: Palestinian Woman Attacked, Clashes Erupt Near Ramallah

Palestinian media reported on Saturday morning that shots were fired at Palestinian homes in the village of Al-Muryer, northeast of Ramallah. Clashes reportedly broke out between settlers and Palestinians in the area. The IDF stated that shots were fired at an Israeli vehicle near the village, close to the Mitzpe David outpost. In response, security forces conducted searches and imposed roadblocks on the village.

Separately, Israeli police are investigating an incident where a Palestinian woman was attacked with a stick in the southern Hebron Hills on Friday afternoon. Police said a young suspect fled the scene and was not apprehended by initial IDF forces who arrived. Police have launched a search for the suspect.

The IDF is maintaining heightened security in the West Bank ahead of the Jewish holidays of Sukkot and Simchat Torah, following Rosh Hashanah. The Nachal Brigade has been conducting a large-scale counter-terrorism operation across the West Bank, searching over 1,200 sites and uncovering a bomb-making lab. Increased military vehicle presence has been observed near Nablus. The military is on high alert, anticipating thousands of visitors to the West Bank during the holidays.
