Israeli Forces Push Back Lebanese Army From Lebanon Security Zone
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that its troops operating in a security zone in southern Lebanon encountered several Lebanese army soldiers who had established checkpoints without prior coordination and in violation of existing agreements. According to an IDF press release, Israeli forces pushed back the Lebanese soldiers after they refused to withdraw despite explanations.
The Lebanese side stated that the position had been occupied on September 10 with the approval of the UN Lebanon Coordination Committee, with the aim of escorting local residents as they inspected their agricultural lands.
