One Worker Dead, Nine Injured in Israeli Workplace Accidents Last Week
Last week, one worker was killed and nine others were injured in workplace accidents across Israel. Of the injured, one sustained serious injuries and eight had moderate wounds. So far this year, 52 workers have died in workplace accidents, with 32 of those fatalities occurring in the construction sector.
On Monday, a 52-year-old worker, Ramiz Halmi Thana from the village of Al-Nazla Al-Wusta in the Tulkarm Governorate, died after falling approximately 15 meters from a roof while working in the village of Kafr Qara. Separately, a worker around 50 years old was seriously injured in Oranit and hospitalized with chest and limb injuries. Another worker, approximately 35 years old, fell from scaffolding in Lod and was taken to the hospital in moderate condition with abdominal injuries.
Tuesday saw an 18-year-old worker fall from a height in Tzfat, sustaining moderate back injuries. A 46-year-old man, believed to be a worker, fell from a height in the Kadmat Galil Industrial Park and was taken to the hospital with moderate back injuries. On Wednesday, a 19-year-old construction worker in Tel Aviv suffered moderate limb injuries after an accident at a building site.
Further incidents occurred on Thursday, when a worker around 60 years old was injured in his legs at a factory in Be'erot Yitzhak and taken to the hospital. On Friday, a worker around 40 years old was hit by a heavy object at a Tel Aviv construction site, sustaining moderate chest and abdominal injuries.
