Tel Aviv Permits Controversial Prayer Event at Tel Baruch Beach

A dispute over a planned prayer event at Tel Baruch Beach in Tel Aviv has been resolved, with the event now set to proceed as scheduled this Saturday night. The Association of Community Rabbis announced an agreement with the Tel Aviv Municipality, which was granted the status of a court ruling by the District Court.

The event, featuring Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu and the Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv, had faced controversy regarding its proposed gender segregation. Following legal proceedings and the reached understanding between the parties, the Association of Community Rabbis confirmed the end of the dispute.

According to the association, the agreements were made in "good spirits," and the District Court's validation means the event can take place at the predetermined location and time. The prayer event is scheduled to begin at 11:00 PM on Saturday night, with organizers inviting the public to attend in what they describe as an occasion "in honor of the unity of Israel."

The resolution follows days of uncertainty surrounding the event. With the agreements finalized and approved by the court, organizers have confirmed that preparations are ongoing for the event to take place as planned.
