Police Launch Probe into Chairman of Ayalon Highways Over Alleged Forgery

Following an investigative report by "HaMevaker" (The Critic), the Israeli Police have opened an investigation into the conduct of Idan David, the chairman of Ayalon Highways. The probe is reportedly focused on suspicions of forgery and other offenses.

Simultaneously, David has been summoned for questioning by the Government Companies Authority. The authority is seeking explanations and documentation regarding details David presented during his appointment process. The investigation stems from alleged significant discrepancies between the information David provided and findings uncovered by a Channel 12 news investigation.

Specifically, the inquiry centers on data David presented about his work at Migdalit company. He claimed to have served as deputy CEO of a company with approximately $220 million in revenue and over 400 employees. However, documents obtained suggest substantially lower figures. The accountant whose signature appeared on an approval stated they did not provide it and had no connection to the company. The former CEO of Migdalit also denied David's claim of serving as deputy CEO.

The authority also requires David to provide evidence of the activities of GROUP IDY, a company he stated employed around 320 people with revenues of $560 million and assets of $1.26 billion. David had previously stated he lacked documented information on the company's activities from external sources. He is now required to present accountant certifications or official state reports to verify these claims.

The Government Companies Authority has indicated that submitting inaccurate details could be grounds for disqualifying his appointment and terminating his tenure. They also noted that such misrepresentations could lead to criminal proceedings.
